Lunch at a local restaurant or at the hotel. After lunch we start our sightseeing tour of Phnom Penh. We will visit The Royal Palace which is situated on the site of the former citadel, it was built by King Norodom in 1866 in front of the Mekong River. Inside its yellow walls are the Throne hall, the Chan Chaya Pavilion, specially made for performances of classical Cambodian dance, the Napoleon III Pavilion, offered to King Norodom by Queen Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III, and the King’s and Queen’s residential quarters. Nowadays, only the Silver Pagoda can be visited. We continue to The Silver Pagoda, also called the Pagoda of the Emerald Buddha, it is located in the walls of the Royal Palace. Inside, its floor is comprised of 5,000 silver blocks. In the centre of the pagoda there is a magnificent 17th century emerald Buddha statue made of baccarat crystal. The walls enclosing the pagoda are covered with frescoes depicting episodes from the Khmer version of the Ramayana. Afterwards we make a stop at The National Museum. Situated near the Royal Palace, Cambodia’s National Museum offers a charming setting for the display of a stunning collection of Khmer art. Predominantly worked in stone, the sculptures date from both the Angkorean and pre-Angkorean eras, complimented by more recent examples of Cambodian art. The museum is housed in a terracotta-roofed structure of traditional Cambodian design, which was built between 1917 and 1920. Dinner at city restaurant and overnight stay in Phnom Penh.

Day 4 : Phnom Penh - Siem Reap ( B/L/D )
After breakfast at the hotel, we will visit Toul Sleng Museum & Choeung Ek ( Killing fields ). When the Khmer Rouge came to power in 1975 they converted a non-descript high school in the suburbs of Phnom Penh into a detention and torture centre known as Tuol Sleng, or S-21. A genocide museum was established at Tuol Sleng after 1979 and today it remains the way it was left by the Khmer Rouge. The very ordinariness of the setting as you approach it contrasts greatly with the horrors perpetrated within its walls. Hundreds of faces of those tortured line the walls inside the old school. Most of the 17,000 people detained at Tuol Sleng were eventually transported to Choeung Ek, a mass graves site located 15 kilometres outside Phnom Penh. Known to locals as the Killing Fields after the popular movie, Choeung Ek also serves as a memorial to those killed under the Khmer Rouge rule. Lunch in a local restaurant or at the hotel. We pay a visit to the Central Market in Phnom Penh and afterwards transfer to the airport for your flight to Siem Reap. We check in at the hotel and after we will enjoy sunset at Angkor Wat. Dinner and overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 5 : Siem Reap ( B/L/D )
Breakfast at the hotel. Today day we will visit the South Gate of Angkor Thom. Inside its walls there are many monuments: The Bayon. This temple mountain built by Jayavarman VII is situated in the centre of the city of Angkor Thom. It is a three-tiered pyramid with its entrance facing East. The central shrine is surrounded by 54 towers all crowned by gigantic faces, representing Lokiteshvara but with the features of Jayavarman VII. They gaze out to the North, South, East and West, and wherever you are in the temple, you are surrounded by these enigmatic faces, smiling at you all the time. This sets The Bayon apart from many other Angkorean monuments. Lunch at the hotel. After lunch we will visit one of the most famous temple in the Angkor Wat. There are few places anywhere on earth to match the splendour of Angkor Wat. The temple is one of the largest monuments to religion ever built and is truly one of the wonders of the world. Believed to have been constructed as a temple and mausoleum for King Suryavarman II at the peak of the Khmer empire in the first half of the 12th century, Angkor Wat is probably the best-preserved of the Angkorean temples. In the afternoon we will drive to the Tole Sap Great Lake. This is perhaps one of the most ecological wonders in the world, Tonle Sap is located in the middle of Cambodia. It is the Tonle Sap Lake that feeds the people of Cambodia with tons of fresh water fish, carps, mussels, and herrings all year round. To a wide array of birds and fish-eating waterfowls, Tonle Sap provides them the fruitful aquatic habitats. During the dry season, the depth of the lake is only 1 metre, but in the wet season, marvelous natural phenomenal takes place when the Tonle Sap River reverses its direction and floods the lake, enlarging its size, then Tonle Sap Lake becomes one of the largest lake in Southeast Asia. With its biological diversity, the Tonle Sap Lake has naturally established bird sanctuary around Prek Toal where rare breeds, the milky stork and the spot-billed pelican can be seen. These days, number of visitors who add famous bird-watching spot of Prek Toal into their Siem Reap’s trip is increasing, particular from December to May. We will take a boat trip on the lake to see the floating village. Dinner with Cambodian classical Dance and Music and overnight at the hotel in Siem Reap.
