Bangkok
CN 03 - Culture Tour to Prajeenburi
( private tour )
Daily departure from Bangkok, but only as
a private tour.
07.00 AM. Pick up at your hotel and we drive
to Prajeenburi. Here we visit the ancient city of "Sri
Mahosot". In the Dhvaravadi period this was a very
prosperous city. Archaeological finds in the area contains
engraved stones, beads, pottery and images of Hindu gods.
In the area you also find the sacred site of "Buddha’s
Footprint" and a beautiful carved and decorated pond
from ancient times. A cultural tour includes of course a
visit at a museum and our choice today is the Prajeenburi
Museum for the eastern region of Thailand. On display in
this museum is beautiful examples of Khmer and Dhvaravati
period art. The most famous is the Narayana statue with
four arms, standing in the front of the entrance. The museum
also displays treasures from ship wrecks found in the gulf
of Thailand. Lunch in a local restaurant.
