CEI 30 - ½ Day Tour - Doi Tung & Hill Tribes ( private tour )

Daily departure from Chiang Rai, but only as a private tour.

Depart by eight o’clock for a drive up Doi Tung ("The Flag Mountain"). This is the place chosen for the Kings Mothers winter palace. Around the palace is a wonderful garden open to public. New villages have been created under the auspices of the Princess Mother’s Foundation, to teach hill tribes about farming instead of opium cultivation, which was very common before. There is also a museum worth a visit and it is open every day, except Monday and Thursday ( at the moment ). Then we move on to an Akha hill tribe village. After the visit, we return to Chiang Rai.
