such as SHWEZIGON PAGODA, built by King Anawrahta in the early
11th century, GU BYAUK GYI, a temple with exquisite
murals of Jataka scenes, KHAY MIN GA TEMPLE, noted for its spectacular
panoramic view of the area’s many monuments and ANANDA TEMPLE
with four huge standing Buddha images and numerous seated figures
in niches around the galleried interior.
After lunch time, a visit of a lacquer craftmen’s workshop in
nearby MYINKABA village and sightseeing to MANUHA TEMPLE, built
in mon style in
1059, NANBAYA TEMPLE, a unique sandstone monument, said to have
been the palace of King Manuha and MYINGABA GU BYAUKGYI TEMPLE,
noted for its ancient mural paintings under the protection of
UNESCO. Board a small local boat in the late afternoon for a sunset
cruise on the mighty Ayeyarwaddy River. Overnight in Bagan.
Day
03 Bagan - Heho - Pindaya - Inle Lake
Transfer to Nyaung Oo (Bagan) Airport for
domestic flight to Heho. Upon arrival in Heho, proceed by road
to Pindaya (65 km - 1 ½ hours) to visit PINDAYA CAVES, unique
for the thousands of Buddha images placed there by pilgrims over
many centuries. Lunch at a simple restaurant. After lunch,
drive by road to INLE LAKE (90 km - 2 ½ hour). Transfer by boat
to the hotel on the lake. Overnight on Inle Lake.
Day
04 Inle Lake
An excursion by boat on the scenic Inle
Lake will include sights of the famous leg-rowers, typical floating
gardens, local methods of fishing and village life. Lunch time
at a local restaurant on the lake. Further visits are made to
PHAUNGDAW OO PAGODA, the weaving village of INPAWKHON and other
sights. Overnight on the lake.
Day
05 Inle Lake - Heho - Yangon
Morning visit to a colorful market in the
Inle Lake region, then proceed to Heho Airport. Return flight to
Yangon. Our car and guide will be at clients’ disposal for further
sightseeing or shopping, opportunity to visit Bogyoke (Scott’s)
Market, until departure by international flight in the evening. |
