Situated along Thai-Burma border where ethnic people of Mon and Karen are dominant, Sangklaburi is dubbed Mae Hong Son ( in the hilly North ) of western Thailand and has long been famous for its uniqueness in natural and cultural characteristics. Elephant riding enhances your nature appreciation, while bamboo rafting provides you a chance to experience a water adventure along a natural stream. Visit the most well known Mon Temple and Three Pagodas Pass as the historical landmark of Thai-Burma border. Apart from the history visit, you may find a variety of souvenirs, from small wooden items to home furniture worth taking a look at.

Itinerary in short.

07:00 Pick up from Kanchanaburi by air conditioned van to Sangklaburi.
10:00 Upon arrival, continue to Karen Elephant Village.
10:30 Start elephant riding into the jungle. The route runs up and down the mountainous area, leading to Huai Payoh stream with an impressive scenery all the way through. After 90 minutes of having fun on the back of elephants, enjoy a picnic lunch by the stream.
12:40 Have great fun with 40 minutes bamboo rafting back to the village.
14:00 Visit Wat Wang Wiwekaram ( Mon Temple ) which harbours the largest impressive Marble Buddha Image in Thailand. Many shop stalls selling a wide range of souvenir items from Burma may be worth taking a look.
15:15 Arrive Three Pagodas Pass along Thai-Burma border. Another chance for shopping of similar items for those who look for some wooden souvenirs back home.
16:00 Depart for the town of Kanchanaburi.
19:00 Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel in Kanchanaburi.
