Bangkok
RICE - ½ Day - Rice Barge
Tour ( private and joint tour )
Daily departure from Bangkok, both as a
private tour ( private pick up / drop off and a joint cruise
) and joining with other travellers.
In older days daily commerce in Thailand
was conducted mostly along the canals (or klongs in Thai).
Bangkok water network was busy and served as the principal
means of communication causing Bangkok to be called the
Venice of the East by the early European visitors. The klongs
still exert considerable charm, as does the Maenam Chao
Phraya (River of Kings) which flows through Bangkok.
The trip starts by long tail speed boat
onto the klongs of Bangkok. What you will see of this water
borne way of life is fascination, it gives you a taste of
a bygone era when much of the city life revolved around
the river & its network of canals. You will be surprised
at how different the city looks from the canals and how
quickly you seem to be in the countryside. Approx. 30 minutes
later, we change the boat / move to a converted rive barge
(approx).
